Vulcan Peak Lookout

The Vulcan Peak Lookout was established in 1940 at Tsp. 39 S. Rng. 11 W., Sec. 15, elevation 4,561 feet. According to Siskiyou National Forest plans that year, "The position looks over country to the west, where numerous man-caused fires have occurred." A 14-foot by 14-foot ground cabin was built in 1941 and demolished in 1968. Kemnow Online History
