Chetco Peak Lookout

A 10-foot redwood tower and livable lookout cab was constructed in 1937 in Tsp. 39 S., Rng. 11 W., Sec. 36, but was abandoned by the 1950s. Jerry Phillips worked from this lookout during 1944, during WW II, and while attending Oregon State College School of Forestry. This was his viewpoint during those years.
