The entries on this page were submitted to this contest in accordancewith the rules given on the Top 10 List Contest entry page. Final entries were
submitted and voted on up to June 5, 1997 at midnight. Below you can see the
entries and the results of the voting. Students associated with PEAS were
asked to vote on the entries. Votes were based on 1 through 10 places. First
place votes were worth 10 points while 10th place votes were worth 1 point. Final
results are based on total points which each entry received.
The
PEAS Top 10 List contest provided an opportunity for students from
participating schools to become involved in the PEAS project. The
PEAS Top Ten List asked students to respond to the question, Why is this project
named "PEAS?"
The contest was based on the popular "Top Ten List" presented on the
television show "Late Night with David Letterman."
We encouraged students to vote for their favorite entries since the top ten winners
received
Prizes were provided by our sponsers and included a
computer,
gift certificates,
computer software,
a digital camera and more!
