Albert G. Walling was an influential, long-term resident of Oregon during pioneer times. He lived in southwest Oregon during the early gold rush years of 1852 and 1853, and later established a respected press and map printing company in Portland. His illustrated histories of various counties of the Pacific Northwest have proven to have enduring academic and aesthetic value.
